Five Chiefs ranked by Central scouting

Five Spokane Chiefs are on NHL Central Scouting's mid-term rankings; four skaters and one goaltender. All five players will be eligible for the 2008 NHL Entry Draft this summer.

Mitch Wahl, who will participate in the CHL's Top Prospect's Game later in the month, is ranked 37th for North American based skaters. He was ranked 17th overall in the WHL in the Central Scouting Bureau's preliminary rankings.

Two-year veteran defenseman Mike Reddington is ranked 133rd. The Port Coquitlam, BC native has played 113 career WHL games and is +13 in 40 games this season.

Jared Spurgeon, a three-year veteran d-man, is the 144th ranked skater. Spurgeon is fourth in the WHL with a +24 and is the chiefs leading scorer from the blueline with five goals and 20 points. Of his 15 assists, nine have come on the power play.

Rookie defenseman Brett Bartman is ranked 165th overall for North American skaters. Bartman's debut season has seen him post a +8 in 32 games.

Dustin Tokarski is ranked 11th overall for North American based goaltenders. The 18-year-old currently leads the WHL with a 1.84 GAA.
