
Fisher Cats Top Trenton 5-3

New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
Trenton, NJ - Adeiny Hechavarria homered, Craig Stansberry drove in two runs, and Moises Sierra had three hits as the Fisher Cats beat Trenton 5-3 on Sunday afternoon at Waterfront Park.
With the Fisher Cats leading 2-1 in the top of the eighth inning, Hechavarria ended an 0-for-15 hitless streak with a lead-off home run. Sierra followed with a single and scored on a double by Stansberry(1-for-1, 2 RBI) to make it 4-1. Stansberry advanced on two Trenton errors, scoring to make it 5-1.
Trenton (10-13) opened the scoring in the bottom of the second inning. DH Cody Johnson homered on the first pitch he saw from Zach Stewart to make it 1-0 Thunder.
The Fisher Cats (12-9) came back to tie in the top of fourth inning on consecutive doubles by Mike McDade (2-for-4) and Ricardo Nanita.
New Hampshire went in front for good in the top of the sixth inning. Sierraand McDade put together back-to-back singles. With runners on the corners, Ricardo Nanita came to the plate. After fouling a pitch off his face, he left the game. Stansberry pinch-hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Sierra, to give the Fisher Cats a 2-1 lead.
Stewart (2-1) earned the win, pitching six innings, allowing four hits and one run. He walked two and struck out three. Alan Farina recorded the final five outs of the game for his fourth save.
The Thunder did tack on two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning on a single by Bradley Suttle, plating Austin Krum, who had walked and Corban Joseph, who had reached on a single.
Trenton starter Shaeffer Hall (2-2) worked the first six innings, allowing two runs on six hits. He did not walk a batter and struck out three, but suffered the loss.
The Fisher Cats continue the roadtrip on Monday with a 6:35pm game in Reading, Pennsylvania. RHP Rey Gonzalez (2-1, 1.88) starts for New Hampshire against Phillies LHP Ryan Edell (2-0, 4.44). Radio coverage begins at 6:15pm with Bob Lipman on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network.
