Altoona Curve News Release

CURVE, Pa. - The first-place Altoona Curve return home to play a quick three-game series with the Akron Aeros (AA - Cleveland Indians) beginning Tuesday at Blair County Ballpark. A Two-for-Tuesday, Wacky Wednesday with lunchmeat craziness and the final School Kids Day of the season highlight the three-game set.

Tuesday marks a Two-for-Tuesday presented by Atlantic Broadband and KRAFT Singles where fans receive two-for-one offers on tickets, hot dogs and popcorns at BCB. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, the Curve pays a "Wacky Wednesday" tribute to the wonderful thing that comprises our hoagies, subs and sandwiches - lunchmeat - with Livin' La Vida Lunchmeat. We'll pay tribute to lunchmeat by holding contests of the highest quality including the Meat Eaters' Derby and the Bringing Home the Bacon contest among others. We're even going to give Al Tuna the night off in favor of our long lost hot dog character, Frank.

In the Meat Eaters' Derby there will be eight participants and three rounds (quarterfinals, semifinals and finals) with Chicken, Hot Dogs and Lunchmeat fare to be devoured. Whoever is left standing at the end will receive free lunch for a year featuring lunchmeat from Kunzler, bread from Pacifico Bakery and snack chips from Herr Foods.

In the postgame Bringing Home the Bacon contest, selected fans will have their hands greased up and be tasked with catching a pig on the field. The lucky participant able to hang on and win the pig-catching contest will receive a free pig to roast compliments of Holland Brothers Meat.

With the Road to Savings program in effect for the series against Richmond, fans will receive $2 off all tickets to Wednesday night's game. Altoona won two of its four games on the road trip and each win was worth $1 off ticket prices.

The three-game homestand will conclude on Thursday with our final School Kids Day/Late Shift Workers Day game beginning at 10:30 a.m. Late shift workers can also take advantage of $1 off Grandstand and UPMC Health Plan Outfield Reserve tickets to the contest.
