Yankees Promote RHP Noesi To Double A

TRENTON NJ) The Trenton Thunder, Double A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, announced today that they have received RHP Hector Noesi from Single-A Tampa. With the move, the Thunder roster is now back to full capacity.

Noesi, 23, started eight games for Tampa in the Florida State League to begin 2010, and went 5-2 with a 2.72 ERA. The Dominican Republic native allowed 13 earned runs on 35 hits in 43 innings pitched, while striking out 53 and walking six. He was named Florida State League Pitcher of the Week for the week ending on April 19.

In 2009, Noesi went a combined 6-4 with a 2.92 ERA in 20 starts for Low-A Charleston and Tampa. Entering 2010, he was ranked the 24th best prospect in the Yankees organization by Baseball America.

The Thunder open up a three game series against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Tuesday at 7:05 in Manchester, NH. RHP David Phelps (3-0, 1.60) starts for the Thunder, while the Fisher Cats start RHP Zach Stewart (2-1, 6.84).
