Jacoby Ellsbury to Rehab with Sea Dogs
Ellsbury Expected to Join Sea Dogs on Tuesday
Boston Red Sox outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury is expected to join the Portland Sea Dogs on a rehab assignment on Tuesday, May 18th at 6:00 PM when the Sea Dogs take on the New Britain Rock Cats at Hadlock Field.
Ellsbury, 26, has been on Boston's disabled list since April 20th (retroactive to April 12th) with a rib injury. Ellsbury suffered the injury in an outfield collision with Red Sox third baseman Adrian Beltre on April 11th in Kansas City. In 6 games with the Red Sox this season he is batting .333 (10-for-30) with 4 2B, 1 RBI, 6 runs scored, and 2 stolen bases.
Homestand Preview May 18-May 23
After a quick road trip to New Hampshire, the Portland Sea Dogs return to Hadlock Field to take on the New Britain Rock Cats (Twins) and the Trenton Thunder (Yankees) to play seven games over the next six days. The New Britain series runs from May 18th-20th, and the Thunder visit from the 21st to the 23rd. Topps Attax National Championships
Hey kids, get ready to play in the Topps Attax National Championships! The regional qualifying tournament is being held right here in the stadium on May 22 with the winner moving on to compete at the National Championships at Citi Field in New York City! Tournament is FREE, so bring your cards on May 22, register at the stadium between 11:30-12:30 PM and be prepared to battle for your chance to Meet an MLB player and become the Topps Attax National Champion! Sea Dogs to Host Blood Drive on June 19th
The American Red Cross and the Portland Sea Dogs are teaming up for a blood drive on Friday, June 19th from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Hadlock Field. The first 30 people to sign up and give blood will receive a 2010 Sea Dogs Team Autograph Baseball. Each donor will receive a pair of tickets to that evening's Sea Dogs game against the Akron Aeros. In addition each donor will be entered into a contest to win a pair of Red Sox tickets. Food will be available to all donors and Sea Dog players and Slugger will be stopping by to say thank you for giving the gift of life.
Sea Dogs Announce Game Time Change for June 5th
The Portland Sea Dogs have announced that the Saturday, June 5th game against the Reading Phillies has been changed to a 5:00 PM start time. The game was originally slated for 6:00 PM. The Portland Sea Dogs are scheduled to take on the Reading Phillies in a single-admission doubleheader consisting of two seven inning games at 5:00 PM on Saturday, June 5th at Hadlock Field. The doubleheader is a result of a May 4th rain out between the two clubs.
