Fireworks galore for Independence Day at beyond at the Grounds

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Suns, first-half champs of the Southern League's South Division and owners of one of the best records in all of baseball, will be back at the Baseball Grounds on July 4 for a five-game set against the Carolina Mudcats.
Fireworks dominate the week as the Suns plan three great shows to celebrate Independence Day. On the fourth of July, the Suns plan the biggest fireworks show in Baseball Grounds history, complete with some special surprises for the fans. The Suns will also be celebrating the 83rd birthday of team owner Peter Bragan's birthday. The first 2,000 fans will also receive a free set of 2006 Suns team baseball cards, courtesy of Jacksonville Sports Cards and AM930 The Fox.
The Independence Day celebration continues on Wednesday with another monster postgame fireworks show. It's also Humpday Wednesday with half-price beer, compliments of Miller Lite and Rock 105.
The most popular night in town returns with Whataburger Night and Thursday Night Throwdown. Whataburger and Comcast Spotlight will be giving away great prizes all through the game. Fans will enjoy Buds for a Buck, sponsored by Budweiser and Planet Radio 107.3FM.
Megaphones, Zooperstars and MORE fireworks await fans on Friday night. The first 3,000 fans get a free Suns megaphone from The Real Yellow Pages from Bellsouth, plus the Zooperstars perform all game long! Fans can get a free hot dog and drink coupon by recycling their old phone books! Another great Friday Family Fireworks show will light up the night sky after the game, sponsored by NAPA Auto Parts and your local NAPA Autocare Center Dealers. The BellSouth EZone will also be on site.
Saturday marks the end of the homestand and the first 3,000 fans will get a free bobblehead of former Sun and current Dodger catcher Russell Martin. Saturday's game is sponsored by St. Vincent's Hospital and Rock 105. The BellSouth EZone will be back for another night of fun!
Tickets for the Suns entire five-game homestand and the rest of the regular season are currently available by calling the Suns ticket office at 358-2846 or by ordering online at www.jaxsuns.com. Season tickets, group nights and limited sponsorships are still available.
