Thompson added to Southern League All Star Team

Mobile, AL-The Southern League of Professional Baseball announced today that BayBears pitcher Sean Thompson has been added to the roster for the South team for the Southern League All Star Game. Thompson will replace Jacksonville Pitcher Heath Trotten who is unable to participate in the game. Sean will join BayBear teammates Luis Cruz, George Kottaras, and Drew Macias for the game on July 10th at Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery.
Thompson, 23, was selected by the Padres in the fifth round of the 2002 player draft. The left-handed pitcher from La Junta, CO has started 15 games for the Baybears this season. In three of his last four games he has not surrendered an earned run (14 1/3 innings). For the season Thompson is 3-6 with a 3.49 era.
