Indianapolis Indians News Release
MOOSIC - Pa. -- Wilfredo Boscan scattered five singles in seven innings and Alen Hanson lifted his first career Triple-A homer as the Indianapolis Indians salvaged the finale of a three-game series with a 2-1 win over the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on Sunday afternoon at PNC Field.
Boscan (2-1) bounced back from seven runs in just 1/3 of an inning on May 5 vs. Rochester. He allowed the first two RailRiders (15-16) batters to reach safely before retiring eight straight and 21 of his final 26 through Sunday's season-long outing.
His counterpart, right-hander Kyle Davies (2-3), was actually more dominant through four no-hit frames until he allowed the Tribe to break through in the fifth.
Hunter Morris snapped Davie's no-no stretch with his first hit in five games. The first baseman singled home Elias Diaz to give the Indians (18-13) a 1-0 lead.
Hanson, hitting .333 (15-for-45) since April 28, then took Davies deep to right field on the first pitch of the sixth.
Tribe closer Blake Wood inherited and stranded the tying run in the eighth and worked a perfect ninth as part of his league-leading ninth save.
