Today's Game
This afternoon, the Bisons take on the Norfolk Tides in the final game of a three-game series at Harbor Park (1:05 p.m.). The Bisons need to win today to salvage the final game of their six-game roadtrip after being swept by Durham during the week. Monday, the team returns to Buffalo for a seven-game homestand against the Bulls and Mud Hens.
vs. the Tides
Today is the final matchup between the Bisons and Tides this regular season. Norfolk has won the season series with victories in four of the first six games. It's just the second time in the last eight years the Bisons have lost the season series against the Tides (3-5 in 2012).
Andrew Albers
LHP ANDREW ALBERS will make his sixth start today. The southpaw is 1-4 on the season as Buffalo has scored just six combined runs in his previous five starts. Albers allowed just one run over five innings last Tuesday in Durham but the Bulls won, 7-0. He struck out five and walked just two in the defeat.
Matt Hague
INF MATT HAGUE'S hit streak reached 10 games last night, the first Bisons player to reach that plateau. The stretch is also tied for the 3rd-longest active streak in the IL. Hague has averaged .317 (13-41) since April 29 with two doubles, four RBI and three runs scored.
Roster Moves
Toronto has selected the contract of INF STEVE TOLLESON from the Bisons. Tolleson played two games with the Bisons (2-9) since re-signing with Toronto on Thursday. To make 40-make room, the Blue Jays have designated Bisons RHP PRESTON GUILMET. The righty posted a 1.26 ERA in 10 appearances for the Herd (14.1 IP, 12 SO). The Bisons also activated OF CHRIS DICKERSON off the disabled list just prior to last night's contest
Bisons Bits
After not playing an extra inning game in their first 27 contests, the herd has lost back-to-back extra inning games to the Tides...The Bisons have just one Triple-A home run this year on their roster, belonging to INF MATT HAGUE. Buffalo has not hit a home run in 481 at-bats, a stretch that goes back to April 25...Bisons starters have posted a combined 2.62 ERA in the season's first 29 games.
Blue Jays Update
The Blue Jays (16-15) won their third straight with a 7-1 victory over Boston on Saturday. Edwin Encarnacion homered and drove in three while former Bison Drew Hutchison allowed just one run in five innings. Toronto goes for the three-game sweep of the Red Sox today at 1:07 p.m.
