(CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas) - The Hooks have only four regular season games remaining at Whataburger Field. Be sure to come out to the ballpark as the boys play host to the Frisco RoughRiders Tuesday through Friday in a battle for the second half title of the Texas League South. The series could be a preview of the first round of the Texas League Playoffs. Here's a look at what's going on at Whataburger Field during the year's final homestand.
Tuesday, August 22 - Hooks Help Night
The Hooks will announce their selection for this year's Field of Dreams, a program designed to improve the quality and enhance the use of youth league baseball and softball facilities throughout the Corpus Christi area.
The Hooks will also present the Corpus Christi Police Athletic League with a check for the proceeds gained from this year's Grande Grand Prize Games.
Join 1230 KSIX-ESPN Radio and the Hooks for a pre-game tailgate party at Whataburger Field from 5-7 p.m. Champion Auto Group has donated a brand new tailgate autographed by the 2006 Corpus Christi Hooks including future Hall-of-Famer Roger Clemens. It will be raffled off on Tuesday evening. The winner will be announced during the Hooks' 7:05 pm game vs. Frisco.
And don't forget groups of 20 or more receive half-priced admission at the last Half-Price Group Night of the season.
Wednesday, August 23 - Houston Texans Night
Wednesday is Houston Texans Night at Whataburger Field as the first 2,500 fans receive a Texans t-shirt, courtesy of Reliant Energy and the Texans. Also on hand will be the Texans Cheerleaders.
If you don't have tickets already, Time-Warner Cable will be at the ballpark collecting non-perishable food items for their Fill the Cable Truck campaign prior to Wednesday's 7:05 p.m. game. Each fan who brings a food item receives general admission to Wednesday night's game. Also, Wednesday is Whataburger Fan Day as fans presenting their receipt receive half-off admission.
Thursday, August 24 - Shirt off the Back Night
Thursday is Shirt off the Back Night at Whataburger Field. Each Hooks player will donate his jersey to one lucky fan. Winners will be selected in a drawing following the game. Each fan in attendance will receive one raffle ticket upon entry and additional tickets can be purchased for only $1. Proceeds benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Half-price drinks will be available all night courtesy of Circle K/ Citgo Refineries.
Friday, August 25 - Fan Appreciation Night
The last home game of the 2006 regular season is Friday and each fan who attends the 7:05 p.m. game receives a raffle ticket and automatic entry into drawings for great Hooks' memorabilia.
The final regular season home ends on a bang with Friday Fireworks, presented by Bud Light. The Hooks will also present a special look back at the season with the Top 5 plays of the year and their 2006 Fan Video.
