Peter Lavin scored on the play after hitting a one-out double. Erie cut the lead in half when Dixon Machado hit a solo home run off Hoby Milner in the bottom of the 2nd inning.
Erie took a 4-2 lead off Milner in the bottom of the 3rd as Ramon Cabrera hit a RBI groundout and RBI singles from Francisco Martinez and Dixon Machado. Reading tied the game at 4-4 in the top of the 4th inning as Logan Moore hit a RBI double and Albert Cartwright added a RBI single off Ferrell.
