
Fightins Get Their First Win on Dugan

Kelly Dugan broke a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Fightins a 3-2 lead and eventual win.
The Reading Fightin Phils finally got their first of the win as they defeated the Portland Sea Dogs 3-2 on Saturday evening. Kelly Dugan hit the eventual game winning RBI single off of Sea Dogs reliever Nate Reed (0-1) to give the Fightin Phils a 3-2 win.
Portland's offense continues to take the spotlight in this series as they took a 1-0 lead into the bottom of the first inning. After a leadoff double by Mookie Betts and a single by Shannon Wilkerson, Travis Shaw hit a RBI single to score Betts. Hoby Milner got out of the inning by getting a ground-ball double play and a groundout.
Reading threatened in the bottom of the first inning with runners in scoring position but failed to score. Portland continued to score as Stefan Welch hit a sacrifice fly off Milner to score Blake Swihart and give the Sea Dogs a 2-0 lead.
The Fightins finally scored in the bottom of the 2nd inning off Mickey Pena as Edgar Duran hit a two RBI double with one out to score tie the game at 2-2. Holby Milner finished through five innings of work and allowed two runs off six hits. He struck out and walked three batters.
The Fightins finally took their first lead of the game and season, 3-2 as Kelly Dugan hit a RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning off Sea Dogs reliever Nate Reed to score Cameron Perkins.
Nefi Ogando (1-0) pitched two innings in relief to earn his first victory of the season. Jay Johnson pitched a scoreless eighth inning while Kenny Giles earned his first save by closing out the top of the ninth inning.
