Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release
The Fighting Saints earned their second win at the USHL Fall Classic yesterday, defeating the Tri-City Storm 3-1 while outshooting them by a 40-11 margin. Matt Morris played his second consecutive game in net for the Fighting Saints, earning the win for Dubuque after a 4-0 shutout victory over the Omaha Lancers on Wednesday. The Fighting Saints will go for the sweep today against the Muskegon Lumberjacks, their expansion counterpart of a year ago.
The Lumberjacks finished below .500 last season, but were able to earn a playoff berth and advance to the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals. The Fighting Saints will meet the Lumberjacks six times throughout the regular season, but only once in the early-going. The Fighting Saints will travel to Muskegon on October 22, but the two teams will not meet again until January 29.
The Fighting Saints will open the regular season on October 1 at home against Green Bay. It will be a rematch of the Clark Cup Final from a year ago, which the Fighting Saints won in four games.
