Fighting Saints Announce Promotional Schedule

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The fun and excitement at Dubuque Fighting Saints games will not just be confined to the ice. The defending Clark Cup champions today released their 2011-12 Promotional Schedule that features highly-anticipated promotional nights, memorable giveaways and a little bit of the out of the ordinary.

The Saints will kick off the season with a celebration on Opening Night, Saturday, October 1, against Green Bay. In addition to the beginning of the hockey season in Dubuque, the Fighting Saints will distribute the championship rings to players from last season's Clark Cup Champions, and will raise a banner to commemorate the championship. All fans at the game will receive a Fighting Saints magnetic schedule, courtesy of American Trust.

Giveaways will come to fans in all shapes and sizes. The Fighting Saints will giveaway Earmuffs to the first 1,000 fans on "Old School Night" December 3, a tribute to the Will Ferrell/Vince Vaughn/Luke Wilson 2003 film. New Year's Eve will feature 2012 Glasses and Fighting Saints mascot Bernie will be immortalized with a bobblehead giveaway on February 8. Beware of Jason from Friday the 13th, though. On Friday, April 13," the first 1,000 fans will receive Fighting Saints old-time hockey goalie masks.

Popular 2010-2011 promotional nights return with Pink the Rink presented by Finley Hospital on October 14 and Military Appreciation Night on November 4. The Fighting Saints will wear special jerseys for each of these games. The Fighting Saints will do their best to warm hearts during the holiday season. On December 17, fans will have an opportunity to donate to less fortunate children through a Teddy Bear Toss promotion to benefit Toys for Tots. The big man in the red suit - Santa Claus himself - will be in attendance to meet children, courtesy of Queen B Media.

After the holidays, fans will have the chance to get rid of that gift they really didn't need with the Fighting Saints first-ever "Christmas Gift Exchange" on December 28. Fans are encouraged to bring that unwanted gift to the rink and exchange with other fans for something they actually want.

The undead will take over the Mystique Community Ice Center on January 19 as the rink becomes "Zombieland." When the Zombies clear out, couples will get a second crack at a very special night as the Fighting Saints host their "Second Chance Prom" on February 25. Just don't spike the punch.

The regular season wraps up with Fan Appreciation Night presented by American Trust.
