Lansing Lugnuts News Release
LANSING, Mich. - Fifth Third Bank Presents Stand Up 2 Cancer Night is coming to Cooley Law School Stadium as the Lansing Lugnuts host the Beloit Snappers at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday, August 8th.
Lansing Lugnuts players will be wearing one-night-only S$B",(B2C jerseys to raise awareness of the fight against cancer. Throughout the night, Fifth Third Bank and the Lansing Lugnuts will honor nine Fifth Third Bank employees who have beaten cancer. Each will throw out a first pitch and be recognized in a Survivor Starting Lineup, receiving an autographed jersey from a Lugnuts player after the game.
"Cancer has affected all of us in one way or another," said Jason Sanders, Community President of Fifth Third Bank in Lansing. "Fifth Third's collaboration with Stand Up 2 Cancer is an effort to fund cancer research to find treatments now. Partnering with the Lugnuts is one way we join in the fight and we're excited to take a stand together on Saturday night."
Before the game, "I stand up for ____" placards will be passed out to Lugnuts fans and players. During the sixth inning, these placards will be held high, signifying both individual and coordinated support in the fight against cancer.
