5 Things to Know About #FCDvVAN
International and FC Dallas
The 3-0 victory for FC Dallas on Saturday featured a midfield with Paxton Pomykal, Edwin Cerrillo and Brandon Servania, all of whom traveled with the U.S. squad for the 2019 U-20 FIFA World Cup. It marked the first time this season that FC Dallas has used a midfield of all Homegrowns as well as international teammates.
Finding His Place
Dominique Badji is starting to find some form on the wing. Badji's brace was his first for FC Dallas, while also scoring his third goal in three games, along with collecting an assist in that time as well.
New Look Defense
Luchi Gonzalez choose to pair Matt Hedges and Reto Ziegler in the center of the backline, which meant Bressan, a central defender by trade, was moved to right back. It was Bressan's first appearance at right back for the club, and the fifth new iteration of the backline in five MLS games as FC Dallas searches for the best possible solution to get a run of clean sheets.
Out for Revenge
This will be the third fixture this season where FC Dallas plays an opponent it has already faced. Dallas' rematch with LAFC ended in a draw and both matches with San Jose ended with the teams splitting the points as well. FC Dallas will be hoping that given recent form and home field advantage, it will be able to collect its first win against an opponent it dropped points to earlier in the season.
About Vancouver Whitecaps FC
Vancouver had a tough start to the season, collecting only one point from its first five games. While the team has struggled for wins, it has started to grind out results and is unbeaten in its last five matches with four draws.
