ATLANTA - Atlanta United returns to action Wednesday when it travels to face Toronto FC at BMO Field. The match is scheduled to kick-off at 8 p.m. EST and will be broadcast on FOX Sports South. For all statistics and media information, please visit our Media Resources page and game notes.
Atlanta United is 1-1-3 all-time versus Toronto and won the first matchup between the teams this season 2-0 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on May 8 with goals from Tito Villalba and Julian Gressel. Atlanta is looking for its first win at BMO Field where Toronto is 3-3-3 in 2019. This will be Atlanta's first MLS game since a 2-0 win over Chicago Fire on June 1, as the team begins a stretch where it will play eight games in the next 26 days including a U.S. Open Cup quarterfinal.
Josef Martinez leads Atlanta with four goals against Toronto but the striker is away on international duty with a Venezuela side that has reached the quarterfinals of Copa America in Brazil. Toronto is missing five players to the Gold Cup: Jozy Altidore, Michael Bradley (USA) and Ashtone Morgan, Noeble Okello and Jonathan Osorio (Canada). Altidore and Alejandro Pozuelo lead Toronto with five goals each, while Pozuelo leads the team with eight assists. Toronto is coming off a 3-0 road loss to FC Dallas on Saturday, June 22.
