FC Tulsa News Release
TULSA - Mayfest returns to downtown Tulsa in just a few weeks, and again FC Tulsa will play a prominent role in supporting Tulsa's biggest art festival. From May 6-8, Mayfest will take over the Tulsa Arts District and Historic Greenwood with dozens of local artists showcasing and selling their works, and FC Tulsa is the festival's newest sponsor. FC Tulsa will be the Main Stage Sponsor of Mayfest in 2022, the premier stage at Guthrie Green where the weeks' top musical artists will perform throughout the festival.
Mayfest announced on Friday morning its headliner on the FC Tulsa Stage at Guthrie Green will be MaKenzie Thomas, a finalist on Season 15 of The Voice. Thomas will perform at Mayfest on Saturday, May 7 following FC Tulsa's match at ONEOK Field. Another artist to hit the FC Tulsa Stage over the weekend will be New Orleans-inspired brass band King Cabbage, which will headline the Friday night acts.
"Through the last three years of our new era of pro soccer in Tulsa, we have made it a pillar of the club to marry the concepts of art and sport throughout our community," said Michael Schetzel, FC Tulsa's Chief Business Officer. "As the Main Stage Sponsor of Mayfest, we are thrilled to continue the partnership with one of our favorite Tulsa events. Our home match at ONEOK Field on Saturday, May 7, will only add to the Mayfest festivities as we welcome all of Tulsa to experience FC Tulsa."
FC Tulsa will offer a special ticket deal to its match on Saturday, May 7, to those who attend Mayfest, through a redeemable voucher. The voucher will be available at select locations across Mayfest and can be redeemed at the ONEOK Field box office on matchday. The club will take on Detroit City FC at 7:30 p.m. that night in a match presented by Bill Knight Lincoln, with a free Fireworks Show following the match.
