FC Dallas Signs Je-Vaughn Watson to New Contract, Trades him to New England for SuperDraft Pick

FRISCO, Texas (Friday, March 4, 2016) - FC Dallas has signed Je-Vaughn Watson to a new contract and traded the defender to the New England Revolution in exchange for the club's natural third-round pick in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft.

Watson, 32, is a veteran of 119 league matches, 78 of which came in an FC Dallas kit. He was acquired by FC Dallas from the Houston Dynamo on Feb. 19, 2013, in exchange for Dallas' second-round pick in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft. He made his FC Dallas debut on the opening day of the 2013 season. Including playoffs, Watson appeared in 27 matches for Dallas last season. His two assists came in back-to-back playoff matches, last season.

A mainstay of the Jamaican National Team, Watson has appeared in 45 matches and has scored one goal for the Reggae Boyz. He made his international debut in a match against El Salvador played at Toyota Stadium on July 26, 2008.
