FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution have acquired defender/midfielder Je-Vaughn Watson from FC Dallas in exchange for the club's natural third-round draft pick in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft.
Watson, 32, has made more than 100 career appearances in five MLS seasons. He joins New England following three seasons with FC Dallas, where he made 78 appearances and logged 5,839 minutes, six goals, and four assists. Prior to joining Dallas, Watson spent two seasons with the Houston Dynamo. He helped Houston to MLS Cup 2011, where he came on as a substitute in a 1-0 loss to LA Galaxy.
"Je-Vaughn is a versatile player who brings significant experience in both MLS and the international stage to the roster," Revolution General Manager Michael Burns said. "We're confident he will play a valuable role for the team this season."
On the international stage, Watson represents the Jamaican national football team. He has 52 career caps and one goal for The Reggae Boyz. Watson started all but one of Jamaica's 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup matches, including the championship game versus Mexico.
