FC Dallas News Release
FRISCO, Texas (Monday, Oct. 24, 2011) - FC Dallas will host the New York Red Bulls in a single-elimination Wild Card game at 8 p.m. CT, Wednesday, Oct. 26, at Pizza Hut Park. The match will be televised live nationally on FOX Soccer.
The defending Western Conference Champions, FC Dallas enters the postseason as the top Wild Card seed. A win on Wednesday would bring Eastern Conference champ Sporting Kansas City to Pizza Hut Park Saturday for the first leg of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. A loss would end Dallas' quest for a return to the MLS Cup final.
Gates open at 6:30 p.m. with $2 beer, $4 wine and Hornitos margaritas at the Budweiser Beer Garden through halftime. There will also be $1 hot dogs at all concession stands.
FC Dallas is 1-0-1 against the 10th-seeded Red Bulls with the two sides playing to a 2-2 tie at Red Bull Arena on July 23. The Red Bulls won at Pizza Hut Park, 1-0, on Sept. 17. The two clubs met in the 2000 MLS Conference Semifinals with New York advancing on two 2-1 wins in the aggregate series.
FC Dallas will train at Pizza Hut Park at 10 a.m. today and Tuesday in preparation for Wednesday's match. The team's media availability period follows each training session. Media should contact the FC Dallas Communications department with any interview requests. Regular season FC Dallas credentials will be honored at Wednesday's match.
FC Dallas is offering fans a special two-game playoff strip that delivers tickets to both playoff games for as little as $18 (Endline seats). With the playoff strip Sideline seats are $27, Club seats are $45 and Center Circle seats are $75.
