FC Dallas News Release
FRISCO, TX - The FC Dallas Foundation and its partners CoServ, Friends of Rob, Gallagher and UMB Bank unveiled the FC Dallas Foundation's 10th field at My Possibilities in Plano, TX.
"The FC Dallas Foundation mission is to support programs that promote education, health and wellness to empower youth and communities here in North Texas," FC Dallas Foundation Director Brooke Leverette said. "Being able to provide safe and inclusive access to soccer is beyond important to FC Dallas and being out here today to celebrate this field that the HIPsters at My Possibilities get to use is amazing."
The pitch is part of the foundation's commitment to promote a healthy, active lifestyle for youth and communities in North Texas by building safe places for them to play soccer through the Field Development program. Other pitch locations across North Texas include Freddy Field in Dallas, Mercy St. in West Dallas, Jubilee Park in East Dallas, Moreland Family YMCA in Dallas, The Salvation Army in East Plano, Navo Middle School and Strickland Middle School in Denton, Lakeside Middle School in Little Elm, and the FC Dallas Foundation Field in Frisco.
"For My Possibilities, having an organization like FC Dallas and a team that has stood behind the value of inclusivity really provides credibility to the work that we're doing," My Possibilities Executive Director Michael Thomas said. "Having FC Dallas out here and helping put a pitch together just shows that inclusivity is important to them too."
My Possibilities (MP) is a for-cause 501(c)(3) organization designed to provide people with cognitive disabilities the chance to continue their education by providing vocational skills, socialization opportunities, trade skills and independent living skills to HIPsters that give them the chance to live the life they deserve.
The FC Dallas Unified Team will take on the My Possibilities Unified Team this fall at The FC Dallas Foundation's Field at My Possibilities.
