FC Dallas Foundation and Nkosi Tafari Partner to Sell :) T-Shirts
September 1, 2021 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
FC Dallas News Release
Frisco, TX - FC Dallas defender Nkosi Tafari has partnered with the FC Dallas Foundation and Soccer90 to launch :) t-shirts. Proceeds from the sale of the shirts will benefit the FC Dallas Foundation which supports programs that promote education, health and wellness to empower youth across North Texas.
The navy-blue shirt features a simple :) emoticon with the FC Dallas logo on the back neckline.
Tafari started the emoticon frenzy when he tweeted ":)" after FC Dallas' win 2-1 over Sporting Kansas City on July 31, 2021. FC Dallas fans and players immediately embraced the simple yet positive message which they've continued to promote and post on social media following FC Dallas victories.
"I'm always smiling. I always try to get people to smile every day regardless of what I do," said Tafari. "We had won against Sporting Kansas City, our first win on the road this season. I tweeted the smiley emoticon when I got back to the locker room after the match. Then, (FC Dallas defender) Bressan replied. The next thing you know, here we are."
The t-shirts are available to order now at Soccer90.com.
