FC Cincinnati News Release
CINCINNATI - The FC Cincinnati Foundation and the Flying Pig Marathon have partnered to launch the inaugural FCC3, which will be run at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 13 in downtown Cincinnati.
The unique 3-mile course will take participants through Cincinnati, along the Queen City's riverfront, and will end at The Banks where the FC Cincinnati at Chicago Fire game will be shown on the giant screen facing Freedom Way as the anchor for a large outdoor watch party.
The FCC3 registration site is now open at FCCrace.com.
Early registration is available now through April 7 for $30, while the race fee will increase to $35 on April 8. Last-minute registrants can still get into the fun between July 1 and July 11 for $40.
Proceeds from the race will benefit the FC Cincinnati Foundation, the charitable arm of FC Cincinnati, and Flying Pig Marathon Charities.
"The Flying Pig Marathon is a beloved tradition in Cincinnati and we're thrilled to be able to partner with the Flying Pig team for a signature fundraiser this year," said Kate Solomon, the Executive Director of the FC Cincinnati Foundation. "There is a tremendous passion in our city for events that help the greater good and we know that - through their participation - race pros, casual participants and FC Cincinnati fans alike will be benefitting our greater community through their efforts. Whether you run, walk or stroll, you'll have a great time and will be raising money for amazing causes."
"We are honored to be a partner with FC Cincinnati to raise money for charity," said Iris Simpson Bush, Flying Pig executive director. "The Flying Pig Marathon has always made it our mission to join great causes in their fundraising efforts, and we are looking forward to having a day of fun and soccer with the FCC fans."
All registered participants will receive a t-shirt, drink ticket and food ticket for the post-race FCC-Chicago watch party. Participants who complete the 3-mile course will also receive a commemorative medal.
The FC Cincinnati Foundation is committed to improving Cincinnati's quality of life by leveraging its soccer resources and expertise. The Foundation will use soccer to promote youth development to underserved communities, while also providing safer recreation areas for children. In addition to providing soccer programming, the Foundation will serve Greater Cincinnati with support for community-based academic and character-building initiatives. Directly, the Foundation and its programming focuses on youth sports, education, health, social and community service programs.
