FLORENCE, S.C. - The Fayetteville SwampDogs used a five-run fifth inning to take game two and sweep a doubleheader in Florence, 5-4, on Monday night at American Legion Field. They took game one earlier on Monday 11-7.

Dylan Brown, Joe Ford, and Sal Giardina had back-to-back-to-back RBI singles off of Walker McKinvin (2-4), and Joe Vaskas finished the inning with a two-run single to rally Fayetteville (34-20, 17-9) from an early 2-0 deficit.

Tyler Witzel earned his first victory of the season with a complete game for the CPL South champions, who clinched the second half title with the two wins on Monday. Fayetteville has now won five straight against Florence (25-29, 10-16) after losing the first five meetings between the two teams.

The RedWolves again threatened in the final inning, but stranded the tying run on third base and moved to the brink of being eliminated from postseason contention.

The SwampDogs return home for the final home game of the regular season on Tuesday, a doubleheader against the same Florence RedWolves. First pitch of game one is set for 6:05 p.m. The SwampDogs will start the playoffs on Thursday on the road, before returning home to host game two on Friday night at J.P. Riddle Stadium at 7:05 p.m. against a still-to-be-determined opponent.
