FLORENCE, S.C. - The Fayetteville SwampDogs are assured of having home field advantage in the first two rounds of the Petitt Cup playoffs after an 11-7 victory over the Florence RedWolves in game one of a doubleheader at American Legion Stadium on Monday.

The SwampDogs trailed 5-1 after one inning, but rallied with the help of seven walks and seven wild pitches from three Florence pitchers. Jimmie Davis (1-0) earned the win despite allowing five runs in the first, while Brennan Dorsett (3-3) took the loss after surrendering a five-run inning of his own in the top of the second that gave the SwampDogs the lead for good.

Florence loaded the bases to bring the tying run to the plate in the ninth, but Cory Kent struck out Tony Mickon to end the game and strand three RedWolves.

Game two of the doubleheader is set to begin in half an hour from American Legion Field.
