PEARL, MS -- RHP Cody Fassold has been acquired by the Atlanta Braves from Kansas City in exchange for cash considerations. Fassold was assigned to Double-A Mississippi.
Fassold, 25, was 1-2 with a 3.57 ERA in 23 outings for the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, Double-A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals. In five games during the month of June, Fassold posted a 2.08 ERA. He also made two scoreless spot-starts. The Oregon native was signed by the Royals as a non-drafted free agent on June 10, 2011.
The Mississippi roster has 24 active players and 4 disabled.
