
RHP Chris Beck Promoted to Charlotte

The Birmingham Barons and Chicago White Sox have announced that RHP Chris Beck has been promoted to Class AAA Charlotte. Roster at 24.
Beck entered the 2014 season ranked by Baseball America as the No. 9 Prospect in the White Sox organization. In 15 starts this season with the Barons, Beck went 3-6 with a 3.43 ERA (33 ER/86.2 IP). Beck joined the Barons on August 9th of last season, helping the Barons down the stretch run with a record of 2-2 with a 2.89 ERA (9 ER/28.0 IP) in five starts. He was instrumental in the team's run to the 2013 Southern League Championship going 2-0 with a 0.82 ERA (1 ER/11.0 IP) in two playoff starts.
Beck, 23, was drafted by the White Sox in the second round of the June 2012 First-Year Player Draft out of Georgia Southern University where he went 9-5 with a 3.23 ERA as a sophomore and was named Most Outstanding Player of the Southern Conference Tournament. In his third professional season, this will be his first appearance at the Triple-A level.
