
Fargo-Moorhead Beats Grand Prairie 10-4 for 11th Straight Victory

Fargo, ND - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks defeated the Grand Prairie AirHogs, 10-4, for their 11th consecutive victory in front of a crowd of 3,530 on July 14, 2012 at Newman Outdoor Field.
With their 11th straight victory, the RedHawks have tied the 2012 American Association longest win-streak with the Grand Prairie AirHogs, who completed the same streak from June 26-July 7.
Grand Prairie had an early 1-0 lead in the first after an Andres Rodriguez single scored Bryan Frichter.
Fargo-Moorhead answered in the second with five runs of their own. Marcos Rodriguez hit a double down the right field line to score Eric Campbell and Ryan Delgado, Carlo Cota hit an RBI double down the left field line that scored Rodriguez, and Zach Penprase hit a two-run single that put the RedHawks up 5-1.
After a Brian Myrow RBI double in the third made it 5-2, the RedHawks hit another four runs off AirHogs starter Ramon Garcia before he was taken out in the fourth. Todd Jennings hit a solo home run, Cota and Penprase singled, while Campbell and Jon Gaston hit doubles to highlight Fargo-Moorhead's four-run fourth inning.
Grand Prairie manager Rick VanAsselberg and designated hitter Brian Myrow were both ejected in the bottom of the sixth by home plate umpire Chris Bakke for arguing balls and strikes.
Fargo-Moorhead (32-21) starter Tyler Herron improved his record to 4-3 this season pitching 6+ innings and giving up four earned runs on five hits, four walks with five strikeouts. Dan Morari, Kyle Dahman, and Tom Boleska combined to pitch 3 innings in relief giving up only three hits.
Carlo Cota batted 3-for-3 with two doubles, two RBIs, and Eric Campbell was 3-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI. Zach Penprase had two hits with three RBIs and Marcos Rodriguez also had two hits with two runs and two RBIs.
Grand Prairie (37-17) starter Ramon Garcia's record dropped to 0-2 after pitching only 3 2/3 innings giving up nine runs (eight earned) on nine hits and three walks. Cody White and Derrick Miramontes pitched 4 1/3 innings of relief combining for only one earned run.
Andres Rodriguez led the AirHogs at the plate going 2-for-4 with an RBI. Brian Myrow, Chris McMurray, and David Thomas each hit a double.
Fargo-Moorhead is now currently tied for first place in the North Division after Winnipeg lost to St.Paul, 4-3, this evening. The RedHawks will attempt to sweep Grand Prairie tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. for their third straight sweep. Tickets are available at fmredhawks.com or by calling (701) 235-6161.
