Faragher Returns to Norfolk as Ducks Call on Bobkov
December 1, 2014 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Norfolk Admirals News Release
ANAHEIM, Calif. - The National Hockey League's (NHL) Anaheim Ducks announced today that goaltender Igor Bobkov has been recalled from the Ducks' primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL), the Norfolk Admirals. As a result, Anaheim reassigned rookie netminder Ryan Faragher from the ECHL to the Admirals.
Bobkov, 23, has yet to make his NHL debut but may get that opportunity as a result of Ducks' goaltender Jason LaBarbera's recent injury. In six games this season at the AHL level, Bobkov is 1-4-0 with a 4.70 goals-against average (GAA) and .842 save percentage (SV%). The 2009 third-round draft pick is 21-25-2 for his career in the AHL regular season and 17-8-4 in the ECHL. Last season, the towering 6-foot-6 goalie earned ECHL Goaltender of the Month honors twice and finished 2013-14 with a 2.04 GAA and .921 SV%.
Faragher, 24, is in his first full professional season after three years at St. Cloud State University. The Fort Frances, Ontario native signed a one-year contract with the Ducks last April. He owns a 4-3-1 record in 10 appearances for Utah (ECHL) this season and started one game in the AHL for Norfolk back on November 5 at Bridgeport. Faragher allowed three goals in the loss. The 6-foot-2, 200-pounder backs up Yann Danis this week when the Admirals hit the road to take on Charlotte on Tuesday, Springfield on Friday, and Manchester on Saturday and Sunday.
Tickets for the Admirals' return to Scope on December 10 versus Charlotte are available for purchase at the Scope Box Office, ticketmaster.com, Ticketmaster outlets and charge-by-phone at 1-800-745-3000.
