Hockey Canada Selection Camp Roster Includes Winnipeg Jets Prospects

The Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club, in conjunction with Hockey Canada and the Canadian Hockey League, are pleased to announce that Jets prospects Eric Comrie, Josh Morrissey, and Nic Petan have each been named to Canada's National Junior Team Selection Camp.

The selection camp will begin on Dec. 11 at the MasterCard Centre for Hockey Excellence in Toronto, ON. The Winnipeg Jets are the only NHL team with three representatives on Hockey Canada's selection camp roster released today. Josh Morrissey and Nic Petan are returning members of Canada's World Junior team, having competed last season in Malmo, Sweden.

Comrie, selected by Winnipeg in the second round 59th overall in the 2013 NHL Draft, attended Hockey Canada's Summer Evaluation Camp. The Tri-City Americans' goaltender currently leads the WHL in save percentage with .924 through 22 games played this season. The native of Edmonton, AB previously won gold representing Canada at the 2013 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament.

Morrissey, selected by Winnipeg in the first round 13th overall in the 2013 NHL Draft, collected three points (1G, 2A) in seven games for Canada at the 2014 World Junior Championship. Morrissey is the captain of his junior club, the WHL's Prince Albert Raiders. The Calgary-native was a finalist for the 2014 WHL defenseman of the year award compiling 73 points (28G, 45A) in 59 games with the Raiders. He also made his pro debut with the St. John's IceCaps late in 2013-14 and appeared in 20 postseason games, helping guide the Jets' AHL affiliate to the Calder Cup final.

Petan, selected by Winnipeg in the second round 43rd overall in the 2013 NHL Draft, finished with five points (4G, 1A) in seven tournament games for Canada at the 2014 World Junior Chamiponships. The native of Delta, BC was the WHL's second-leading scorer in 2013-14 finishing with 113 points (35G, 78A) in 63 games. He is off to another solid start with the Portland Winterhawks, recording 29 points (5G, 24A) through 22 games. Petan is currently the Winterhawks' team captain.
