FANFest! Coming to Stockton Arena October 14

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder has announced its inaugural "FANFest" event will be held at Stockton Arena on Saturday, October 14 beginning at 9:00 a.m.

The free event is open to the public and will feature the Thunder's morning practice, where Thunder Head Coach Chris Cichocki will be wearing a microphone. Practice will be followed by a team skills competition. Fans in attendance will also have a chance to meet their favorite players during autograph sessions. There will also be several interactive areas for fans to enjoy.

During the day, fans will have opportunities to participate in a videoboard "shout-out" area, game-night sign construction, enter their child to win a chance to announce the pre-game ceremonial "let's play hockey" message at a Thunder game, and enter to win a team autographed stick or a round of golf with Head Coach Chris Cichocki and a Thunder player.

2006-07 season ticket and mini-plan holders will also have a first chance to pick-up their packaged tickets. Individual tickets for the 2006-07 season will also go on sale beginning at Noon at the Stockton Arena ticket office located at the north entrance.

ITINERARY OF FANFest! EVENTS:

9:00 a.m.: Doors open, Fan Deck contests and activities begin, Thunder Practice

10:00 a.m.: Skills Competition

10:30 a.m.: Player "Meet & Greet" autograph sessions, Season Ticket and Mini-Plan pickup

Noon: Individual tickets go on sale * Subject to change

The Thunder begins its 2006-07 pre-season schedule on Tuesday, October 10 against the Bakersfield Condors at Rabobank Arena and faces the Fresno Falcons in its only Stockton Arena pre-season game on Sunday, October 15 at 4:00 p.m., while opening the 2006-07 regular season at Bakersfield on Friday, October 20 at 7:00 p.m.

Stockton opens its 2006-07 home campaign against the Long Beach Ice Dogs on Saturday, October 28 at 7:30 p.m. at Stockton Arena.

General admission tickets to the Thunder's pre-season home game on October 15 can be purchased by calling the Stockton Arena ticket office at (209) 373-1700 or by going to www.stocktontickets.com.

An ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers, the Thunder drew 228,364 fans to Stockton Arena in its inaugural season, the ECHL's best attendance mark for 2005-06.
