Chiefs to open 19th training camp Saturday

Johnstown, PA (October 6, 2006) - The Johnstown Chiefs today announced that they will open training camp on Saturday, October 7, and that all on-ice practices at Cambria County War Memorial will be open to the public.

The Chiefs will take the ice for their first practice at 2:05 p.m. on Saturday at the Cambria County War Memorial. On Sunday, the Chiefs will practice at the War Memorial at 10:15 a.m. and again at 4:15 p.m. The Chiefs will practice at 10:15 a.m. at the War Memorial on Monday, October 9, Tuesday, October 10, and Wednesday October 11, and then at 11:05 a.m. on Thursday October 12.

The team will have a day-of-game practice at 10:15 a.m. on Friday, October 13 before departing for their preseason game that night against the Wheeling Nailers.

On Saturday, October 14, the Chiefs will skate at 11:00 a.m. at the War Memorial prior to the home preseason game against the Wheeling Nailers. All tickets for the preseason game on October 14 will be $8 general admission.

The Johnstown Chiefs, "AA" affiliate of the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning, begin their 19th season as a member of the ECHL on October 21, 2006 at the Cambria County War Memorial in downtown Johnstown against the Pensacola Ice Pilots. Single game tickets are on sale and can be purchased through TicketMaster or the Cambria County War Memorial box office.
