
Salmon Kings announce training camp roster

Victoria Salmon Kings News Release
Victoria, BC- The Victoria Salmon Kings, affiliate of the National Hockey League's Vancouver Canucks and the American Hockey League's Manitoba Moose, announced today their 35-player training camp roster for the 2006-07 season. Fans will have their first chance to see the players in action during a scrimmage from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. today at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.
Among the 35 players, 7 are returnees from last season's squad (Brad Cooke, Josh Garbutt, Seth Leonard, Steve Lingren, Pat Sutton, Ryan Thrussell, and Ryan Wade).
The remaining 28 players attending training camp are:
Forwards (15)-Peter Giatrelis, Wes Goldie, Nolan Graham, F.P. Guenette, Greg Hornby, Joel Irwin, Mike Lefley, Darryl Lloyd, L.P. Martin, Chris Martini, Kiel McLeod, Warren McCutcheon, David Morisset, Jason Williamson, and David Wrigley.
Defensemen (10)-Justin Coutu, Gustav Engman, Ryan Jorde, Matt Kelly, Steve LeCuyer, Jeff MacAulay, Neil McCann, Corey Sabourin, Seamus Young, and Andrew Zulyniak.
Goalies (3)-Bryan Bridges, David Belitski, and Jacey Moore.
Training camp officially started Thursday morning when the Salmon Kings participated in on-ice drills and off-ice conditioning. For camp updates and schedule, visit www.salmonkings.com .
This year's training camp squad starts with four veterans (players with 260-or-more professional games played): Cook, Goldie, Irwin, and Lingren. Eleven rookies will round out the training camp roster (25-or-fewer professional games): Bridges, Giatrelis, Kelly, Lefley, Jeff MacAulay, Martini, McCutcheon, Sabourin, Williamson, Young, and Zulyniak.
Two players have also been assigned to Victoria from the AHL's Manitoba Moose: Vancouver Canucks 2003 7th round pick, F.P. Guenette and Defensman Matt Kelly.
Check out the Salmon Kings "Annual Blue and White game" during training camp at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. Admission is free to the intra squad matchup which begins at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday October 11th.
