Arizona Rattlers News Release
PHOENIX - The Arizona Rattlers have re-signed a familiar face at quarterback, head coach Gene Nudo announced today.
Nick Rolovich (6'1", 200) will re-join the Rattlers after taking a year off to rehab from shoulder surgery. Rolovich was signed as a free agent in January of 2006 before enduring a season ending injury during training camp. Prior to the Rattlers, Rolovich spent two seasons with the San Jose Sabercats where he served as backup QB to Mark Greib.
"He has experience, he is a veteran quarterback, and he showed a lot of promise until he got hurt," said Nudo. "We are excited to have him back. He was a very successful college quarterback."
Rolovich was a two year letterman at the University of Hawaii where he led his team to an 8-1 record during the 2001 season. During those nine games, Rolovich threw for 3,361 yards and 34 touchdowns. He ended his college career with three straight 500-yard passing games. He also tossed school single game records of 8 touchdowns and 543 yards in a 72-45 win over BYU on December 8, 2001.
During his Warrior career, Rolovich placed tenth in the nation in pass efficiency (105.5) while breaking 19 school passing records and eight total offense records. Prior to playing at Hawaii, Rolovich was a two-time junior college All-American at City College of San Francisco, where he led the Rams to a national championship in 1999.
The Rattlers will kick off their 16th season in 2007. Rattlers season tickets can be purchased by calling 602-514-8383.
