Utah Blaze News Release
SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah Blaze traded the rights for QB ADRIAN MC PHERSON (6-3, 218, Florida State) to the Austin Wranglers for future considerations today. The future considerations will include the Blaze receiving two picks from the Wranglers' roster following the 2007 season.
The Blaze originally acquired the rights to McPherson in the 2005 Expansion Draft, but the former Seminole never saw action in the AFL in 2006 and remained on the team's exempt list. McPherson, who was the 2004 AFL Rookie of the Year, spent the last two seasons on the New Orleans Saints' roster until he was recently released a few weeks ago.
The Utah Blaze were winners of the 2006 Commissioner's Award, given to the Arena Football League's Organization of the Year, and the Best Support Staff Award. The Blaze led the AFL in attendance and qualified for the postseason in just their first season. Season tickets for the 2007 are now available by logging onto www.utahblaze.com or by calling the Blaze ticket office at (801) 257-3111.
