
Falcons Ink UMass-Lowell Trio

Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons announced today that the team has signed three rookies from UMass-Lowell. Defensemen J.R. Bria (BREE-uh) and Jake Pence, and center Jason Tejchma (TEECH-muh) will all make their professional debut tonight when the Falcons open a three-game road trip in Boise against the Idaho Steelheads.
Bria played the past two years at UMass-Lowell after transferring from Colgate University. In 2005-06, Bria led all River Hawk defensemen in scoring with 13 points.
Pence appeared in 95 career games during his four seasons with the River Hawks, tallying nine assists and adding 62 penalty minutes.
Tejchma served as the River Hawks captain this past season, and led the team in scoring with 21 points, and tied for the team lead with 10 goals. The native of Muskegon, Mich., played in 148 games in four seasons at UMass-Lowell, scoring 97 points.
Fresno opens a four-game road trip tonight, taking on the Idaho Steelheads at 6:10 p.m. PT. Catch all of the action live on www.fresnofalcons.com starting with the Port of Subs Pre-Game Show at 6:00. The game airs on 1550 and 96.1 Sporting News Radio on a tape-delayed basis following Fresno City College basketball.
The Falcons return home to start a four-game home stand on Friday, March 16, hosting the Alaska Aces at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for all Falcons home games can be purchased at the Save Mart Center Box Office, by phone at (559) 485-8497, on-line at www.ticketmaster.com, or at any TicketMaster outlet.
