
'Blades ink goalie Holden to contract

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Gerry Fleming announced today that the club has signed goaltender Jamie Holden to a contract.
Holden signs with the Everblades after splitting the 2005-06 season with the Fresno Falcons of the ECHL and the Cleveland Barons of the American Hockey League. The 25-year-old began his rookie campaign last year by skating in 32 games with the Falcons and posting a record of 20-7-5 with a 2.55 goals against average and a .921 save percentage. In the 2006 Kelly Cup Playoffs, Holden played in 18 games helping the Falcons reach the National Conference Finals against Alaska, finishing with an 11-7 record and a 2.57 GAA.
The Telkwa, British Columbia native also saw action in 14 games with the Barons and was 5-7-0 with a 3.50 GAA and a .894 save percentage at the AHL level.
Prior to joining the professional ranks last year Holden spent four years at the collegiate level with Quinnipiac University where he compiled a record of 50-34-10, with a GAA of 2.49 in 107 games. Holden's best season with the Bobcats came in his senior season when he posted a career high 20 wins in 34 games while posting a 2.55 GAA.
