Fresno Falcons News Release
Fresno, Calif. - Fresno Falcons fans will have the opportunity to meet the Tyler Kindle and Jonathan Tremblay today, when the players appear at Harmony Church. The players will be on hand from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. meeting fans at the Harvest Fest.
Then on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 Colin Shields and Tom Walsh will be guests at the Mickey Cox Elementary Campus Club After School Group. The players will talk with the students about staying in school as well what it is like to play professional sports. They will be on hand from 2:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Don't miss Josh Prudden and P.O. Beaulieu at Barnes & Noble from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. for story time. The players will be reading stories to the children who attend the weekly story time.
Then on Thursday, November 2, 2006 John Wroblewski and Brady Leisenring are going to speak to pre-school children at Tarpey Elementary. They will be speaking briefly about the importance of staying in school and getting your education. They will be on hand from 8:15 a.m. until 8:45 a.m.
Your first place Fresno Falcons won two out of three games on the road this past weekend beating Phoenix 6-1 on Friday and Long Beach 6-3 on Sunday. The Falcons fell to Phoenix 2-1 in Phoenix on Saturday night. Coach Matt Thomas and the boys return to Home Ice this weekend for a Red White and Blue Celebration. Friday at 7:30pm vs the Phoenix Roadrunners, the Falcons will honor the California Air National Guard 144th Fighter Wing with free schedule posters to the first 3000 fans. The posters feature the Falcons players in a photo with CANG Fighter Jets. Members of the 144th Fighter Wing will also participate in the Dumont Printing First Intermission Hockey Shootout. Saturday, at 8:00pm vs Long Beach Ice Dogs, the Falcons are hosting a Rally Around Our Veterans Game. The first 2000 fans will receive free rally towels courtesy of Eye Q Vision Care and Comcast Cable, and the Falcons will be wearing Red, White and Blue jerseys to be auctioned off after the game to benefit the Central California Veterans Home Support Foundation. All Veterans and active military may purchase Silver Seats ($14.00 seats) for only $ 7. The Falcons will also be hosting a Veterans Parade on the ice during the first intermission. There will be several Veterans organizations represented at the game with concourse information booths. All Veterans and active military are invited to participate with the Falcons this weekend!
