Alaska Aces News Release

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Head Coach Davis Payne and the Alaska Aces participated in the second annual "Lunch of Champions" Monday at the Hotel Captain Cook in downtown Anchorage.

For the second straight year, Payne gave a talk filled with his insights about how Special Olympians, many of whom were at the event, inspire and challenge his hockey club to compete at the same level of intensity. The Aces also donated jerseys and other memorabilia for auction at the event. The auction drew a total of $2,695, bringing the day's proceeds to over $12,700.

"We're excited to help support Special Olympics Alaska in any way we can," said Aces managing member Terry Parks. "We'd also like to thank those sponsors in particular who support not only our organization but our community endeavors as well."

Alaska (3-1) returns to action Friday and Saturday night against the Bakersfield Condors. Both games at Rabobank Arena will start at 6:00 p.m. AST, with live coverage on KFQD 750 AM beginning at 5:45. The Aces split two games with the Condors (2-2-1) at Sullivan Arena last weekend, losing 7-5 on Friday and winning 3-2 in a shootout Saturday. Tickets for Alaska's next home series (November 16-19 vs. Las Vegas) are now available at the Aces office, www.alaskaaces.com, and all Fred Meyer locations in Anchorage. Fans also may call Ticketmaster at 562-4800.
