Storm Release Bruce MacDonald

(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks, announced today that they have released forward Bruce MacDonald.

MacDonald was signed and appeared in Saturday night's 4-3 win over the Reading Royals. Bruce did not collect a point. Bruce MacDonald was a member of the Toledo Storm's inaugural season in 1991-92, his first of eight seasons in northwest Ohio. During his days with the Storm, MacDonald compiled 56 goals and 68 assists with 154 PIM in 176 games. He collected the first ever goal scored for the Storm Franchise. The Reading, Massachusetts's native was a 9th round selection for the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft.

The Storm will welcome in the Johnstown Chiefs this Wednesday for a Third Shift Special day game. The opening face-off for Wednesday's game with the Chiefs is set for 10:35am.
