Springfield Falcons News Release

Springfield, MA – The Springfield Falcons, American Hockey League affiliate of the Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning, drop the puck on their preseason schedule tonight versus the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in Shelton, Conn. Game time is 7:05 p.m.

The Falcons also announced that goaltender Kevin Reiter has been re-assigned to Johnstown of the ECHL and fellow netminder Guillaume Lavallee has been re-assigned to Danbury of the United Hockey League (UHL). The transactions leave the Falcons with two goaltenders - Jamie Storr and Brian Eklund - remaining on the club's roster.

Center Craig Darby, right wing Nikita Alexeev, and the Lightning's 2003 top selection Mike Egener are among the players skating for the Falcons. Forwards Shane Willis, Jarrod Skalde, and defensemen Darren Rumble and Terry Virtue will not dress for tonight's contest. The game will be played at The Rinks at Shelton and will not be broadcast on radio. The Falcons will conclude the preseason with three games this weekend.

While it is the first game of the preseason for the Falcons, the contest marks the second exhibition tilt for Bridgeport. The Sound Tigers hosted the Albany River Rats on Friday evening and claimed a 4-0 shutout win.
