
Falcons Add Two to Training Camp Roster

Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons announced today that the team has agreed to terms with defenseman Chris Eade for the 2007-08 season, and have invited goaltender Ryan Lowe to training camp on a tryout basis.
Eade comes to Fresno after spending three seasons at the University of Western Ontario. In 72 career games with the Mustangs, the 25-year-old tallied 12 goals and added 40 assists for 52 points. He enjoyed a breakthrough season last year, notching eight goals and adding 19 assists for 27 points in 27 games. He was named a first-team OUA West All-Star following last season.
A fourth-round selection of the Florida Panthers in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, the 6-foot-2, 200-pounder also has 292 games of action in the Ontario Hockey League with North Bay and Erie, and has seen previous professional experience in the American Hockey League (Louisville) and United Hockey League (Fort Wayne).
"Chris is a defenseman with an offensive upside who also possesses a strong defensive game," Falcons Head Coach and General Manager Matt Thomas said. "We look for him to add an element to our power play and as a puck-moving defensemen on the power play."
Lowe spent the past four seasons playing for the club team at San Jose State University. He was honored as an All-West selection at goaltender each of the past three years, and was a first-team All-American following the 2005-06 season.
The Falcons open the 2007-08 season on Friday, October 19, hosting the Las Vegas Wranglers at 7:30 p.m. for an Opening Night Extravaganza, presented by Eye Q Vision Care. The first 1,000 kids 12 and under receive a replica Luke Curtin Falcons' jersey. Opening Night is also "Soccer Night in Fresno" and "Rally Around Citizens With Disabilities Night."
