Pemberton Re-signs With Trenton Devils

TRENTON, NJ (September 27, 2007) - The Trenton Devils today announced that they have agreed to terms with defenseman Jay Pemberton. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 6-4, 215-pound native of Cumberland, RI enters his second season with Trenton after compiling 12 points (2g-10a) and 34 penalty minutes in 55 regular season games last year.

Prior to joining the Devils, Pemberton was a four-year letterman with Providence College, notching 46 points (11g-35a) in 135 contests. Among Pemberton's teammates was center Tony Zancanaro who agreed to terms with the Devils earlier this off-season. The Florida Panthers originally selected Pemberton, who turns 24 on October 2, in the 4th round (#124 overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

Pemberton becomes the sixth player to sign with Trenton for the 2007-08 season, joining defenseman Matt Cohen and Stephen Wood, and forwards Jim Henkel, Andrew Leach and Zancanaro.

The Trenton Devils will open the upcoming season against the Reading Royals at Sovereign Bank Arena on Friday, October 19 at 7:30pm. Full and partial season ticket plans for 2007-08 are available by calling (609) 599-9500.
