Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons are pleased to announce the following upcoming and ongoing community events and player appearances:

TIME OUT FOR READING – The Falcons have started their "Time Out for Reading" program for 4th and 5th graders in the Springfield Public School. The "Time Out for Reading" program is a six-week reading initiative where students from each classroom receive a pair of tickets for reaching their reading goals. Falcons players and Screech will be visiting participating schools. School listing and dates are:

1-24 Liberty School 1 pm 2/1 Washington School 1:15 pm **other dates and times will be listed at later dates

1-25 Beal School 1 pm 2/8 Indian Orchard School 1:15 pm

CAPTAIN'S KIDS – Captain #18 Shane Willis CAPTAIN'S KIDS ticket donation program will continue with the Dec. 30th game. Willis will be donating 10 tickets to every home game for the remainder of the season to a children's related organization from Western MA, Northern CT, and Southern VT. If you know of a childrens' related organization that might be interested in tickets, please contact Carole Appleton at (413) 739-3344. DSS Holyoke will be participating Jan. 21st and the New England Center for Change will be participating Jan. 22nd.

ADVANCE AUTO PARTS AND THE FALCONS TEAM UP TO ASSIST THE AMERICAN RED CROSS and OPEN PANTRY – The Springfield Falcons have partnered with Advance Auto Parts to host a collection to benefit the Pioneer Valley Red Cross Emergency Services and Open Pantry Warming Services. Screech will be at the Advance Auto Parts store in Chicopee on Saturday, January 29th from 10-Noon and the West Springfield location on Saturday, February 5th from 10-noon to hand out autographs and hugs to those who donate items. The following items are needed for both organizations: Blankets, slipper socks, toiletries, and clothing. Those fans who contribute will receive a discount coupon to the Feb. 23rd game v. Norfolk Admirals at 7:05 pm. CLEAN OUT THOSE CLOSETS AND KEEP OUR NEIGHBORS WARM THIS SEASON IN THEIR TIME OF NEED!!!!!!

GIVE BLOOD, LOVE HOCKEY - The Falcons have partnered with the American Red Cross Blood Services in their Annual Blood Drive with the Falcons on February 10, 2005 from 12-7 p.m. at the American Red Cross Donor Center, 3500 Main Street, Springfield. Each presenting donor will receive a pair of Falcons tickets to the Wednesday, February 23, 2005 game v. Norfolk Admirals. Call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE to book your appointment today! HOCKEY CARD EVENT – The Springfield Falcons have partnered with Tower Square, in Downtown Springfield, to host a Hockey Card Autograph Signing at Tower Square, by the Food Court, on Tuesday, February 22nd from 2-4 p.m. Fans will be able to purchase team sets and then get them autographed. Proceeds to benefit Springfield Falcons Charities, Inc.

TEDDY BEAR TOSS brought to you by Teddy Bear Pools & Spas – Saturday, March 19th game vs. Hartford – Bring a new Teddy Bear to the game and toss onto the ice for great prizes. All teddy bears will be donated to local Fire & Police Departments and EMS Units.
