Bloomington Extreme News Release
BLOOMINGTON, (Ill.) - The Bloomington Extreme (3-3) will travel to New York this week to play the Rochester Raiders (3-3) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. After putting a beating on Maryland last week, the Extreme look to improve their .500 record and march into the IFL Play-offs.
Rocky Hinds will make the start at quarterback for the Extreme. Last week he went 20-of-34 for 174 with two touchdowns and an interception. The Extreme are 1-1 with Hinds as a starter. Hinds has previously played for the Colorado Ice and the Omaha Beef and has no shortage of on-field experience. There will be some familiar faces not appearing on the field, as Terrell Mayberry, BJ Brown, Brandon Henderson, and Harry Lewis will not be playing Friday.
Rochester, also 3-3 in IFL play, has a choice to start either Perry Patterson or Omar Baker at quarterback. Patterson is the regular season starter for the Raiders, but in the previous match-up with the Maryland Maniacs, Patterson split open his toe and was taken to the hospital to receive stitches. Baker picked up where Patterson had left off with three passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown for a victory against a winless Maryland team.
Extreme head coach Kenton Carr feels positive about his team and is excited for the match-up this Friday. "We got to play our game. We got to fire up our offense and play with a lot of passion and intensity like we did last week." Carr is also pleased with the performance of the defense as of late, as the Extreme only allowed six points in last week's contest.
All Bloomington Extreme road games will be broadcast live at Hooter's on Hershey Road in Bloomington. Prizes will be given out during the game as Extreme fans root their team to victory.
