Round Rock Express News Release

Round Rock RF Barry Wesson drove in two runs with a bases loaded single and a two run homer, RHP Dave Burba picked up the slack after Carlos Hernandez struggled through 3 and 2 third innings in his second start, and Round Rock rolled to a 7-3 win over the Omaha Royals.

Wesson got things started offensively for the Express in a three-run second when he lined a two run single to left off Omaha starter Danny Tamayo. Wesson came right back in the top of the 4th and lined his first HR of the season over the left field wall, also off Tamayo, and Round Rock never looked back.

The Express tacked on two more runs in the 8th inning, including a Trenidad Hubbard RBI single that provided the final run for the E-Train.

Dave Burba threw 3 and a third shutout innings, followed by an inning and a third shutout for lefty Mike Gallo, and then closer Mike Burns struck out 2B Luis Ugueto and DH Chad Santos to end the ballgame, as Burns notched his third save of the season.

Round Rock meets Omaha in game two of the series. RHP Taylor Bucholz goes for the Express against Omaha RHP Dennis Tankersley in a 6:05 start. Pregame show on 1260 ESPN radio begins at 5:35. Go to www.roundrockexpress.com to listen to the game over the internet.
