September 20, 2021 - Triple-A West League (AAA West) - Round Rock Express News Release

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma - The Round Rock Express (61-57) pitching staff stymied the Oklahoma City Dodgers (60-58) en route to a 10-1 victory on Monday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Round Rock hurlers limited Oklahoma City to just one run on four hits while striking out 12 in the game five victory.

Express starter RHP Tyson Miller (4-3, 3.00) earned the win after allowing a run on two hits and three walks while striking out eight in 5.0 dominant innings. On the losing end, Dodgers starter RHP Andre Jackson (2-2, 4.98) surrendered two runs on eight hits and a walk with four punchouts in 5.0 frames.

On a night when the Express offense also shined, Round Rock jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the third inning. Following a leadoff Carl Chester single to open the frame, SS Ryan Dorow drove an RBI double to center field to give the E-Train a 1-0 lead. After 3B Josh Jung singled in the next at-bat, DH Yohel Pozo grounded out to score Dorow and give the visitors a 2-0 advantage.

Oklahoma City cut the Round Rock lead in half in the bottom of the fourth as 1B Matt Davidson worked a leadoff walk before moving to second on a wild pitch then scoring on a ground rule double off the bat of RF Zach Reks for the Dodgers' only run of the evening.

The E-Train blew the game wide open thanks to a four-run sixth inning. 2B Domingo Leyba and LF Jason Martin worked consecutive walks to begin the frame then CF Elier Hernandez singled to load the bases. Dorow later hit an RBI single that scored Leyba, then 3B Josh Jung sent both Martin and Hernandez home with a double. The inning continued as C John Hicks poked a sacrifice fly to deep center field that allowed the speedy Dorow to score from third, making it a 6-1 ballgame.

In the seventh, Round Rock 1B Curtis Terry jumped aboard the run-scoring train by hitting a leadoff home run to deep left field, extending the gap to 7-1. The Express put the game away for good in the eighth inning with three more insurance runs. Chester led off with a single before Jung tallied a single of his own. Hicks then cleared the bases with a booming three-run homer that gave the visiting side a 10-1 edge that held to be the final.

The Express bullpen quintet of RHP Cole Uvila (1.0 IP, H), RHP Matt Bush (0.1 IP, H, BB, K), RHP Jason Bahr (0.2 IP, K), RHP Justin Anderson (1.0 IP, BB, K) and RHP Buck Farmer (1.0 IP, K) combined to toss 4.0 shutout innings that included just two hits and two walks with four punchouts to seal the victory, giving Round Rock a 4-1 lead in the six-game series.

Bush made the first appearance of his current Major League Rehab Assignment, allowing a single to 3B Cristian Santana before striking out C Tony Wolters and issuing a one-out walk to DH Omar Estevez. The righty tossed 15 total pitches, with 10 landing in the strike zone, and committed a balk in his first game action since April 7.

Round Rock and Oklahoma City meet for the final time in 2021 with a Tuesday afternoon matinee. Express LHP Brock Burke (1-5, 5.99) is slated to get the start up against Dodgers RHP Yefry Ramírez (5-3, 4.95). First pitch in the season series finale is scheduled for 12:05 p.m.
