Round Rock Express News Release
Jimmy Gobble apparently wasn't too happy about losing his first game of the season. Gobble, coming off his first loss of the season, shutout the Round Rock Express over 6 2/3 innings to give the Wichita Wranglers a 5-0 win in front of 1,058 at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.
Gobble, who dropped his first decision of the year against San Antonio on May 2, allowed just six hits to move to 5-1.
For the Express, Mike Burns (1-5) took the loss after pitching fairly effectively over 6 2/3 innings. Burns gave up all five runs - four earned - but also struck out five and kept Round Rock in the game until the Wranglers plated two in the seventh to essentially put the game away.
Dax Norris and Ramon German had a pair of hits each.
The four-game series will conclude Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
