Tucson Sidewinders News Release

John Patterson delivered his best outing of the season by limiting the Albuquerque Isotopes to 1 run in 8 innings of work. Patterson settled down after giving up a first inning solo home run to Chris Wakeland, allowing only 4 hits and no walks while striking out 4. He also retired the last 15 batters that he faced to improve to 4-1 on the season with the win. Ron Villone pitched a perfect 9th with two strikeouts to earn his first save of the season. Wednesday marked the 2nd consecutive game in which Tucson pitchers limited the Isotopes to only one run.

Tucson's offense scored 3 runs to take the lead in the 4th inning and tacked on an insurance run in the 7th. Steve Neal led Sidewinder hitters going 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's. Robby Hammock, playing in his first game for Tucson since recently returning from a big league call-up, also had 2 hits in the matinee game.

Tucson looks to win their 3rd game in a row Wednesday when Tucson lefty Mike Gosling (1-4, 8.90) duels Isotope pitcher Justin Wayne (1-1, 6.57).
